CITY MALL AND PARKING STRUCTURE

The location takes place in “Ahmet Kaciku” street in Ferizaj. The existing facility at this location is the chimney of the Wood Processing Factory, an element which according to us, is worth preserving as it is a part of Ferizaj’s history. Being that the chimney is built with clay bricks, it determines the use of the same type of bricks for the new building as well.After site analysis has finished, we can easily tell how the facility is going to be organized: the parking lot structures will be positioned facing the main road because of its noisiness, while the shopping centre will be positioned in the quietest part of the location. in order to provide easy virtual access of the chimney, the height of the object towards it is reduced.
On the other hand, the upper part of the building will be serving as a public space that provides access for people with special needs as well. that is realised by using circular ramps instead of stairs, that
came as a result of prolonged radius of the chimney.
As a very characteristic element of the plan is the opening in the east-west axis by which we wanted to emphase the focus towards the chimney for people who come at the shopping centre, at the same time it creates a shadow-light trick because during the sunset the shadow of the chimney falls on this side
We sure will make them all feel like they are
